Self‐management education for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

TL;DR: A large number of studies showed a significant reduction in the probability of at least one hospital admission among patients receiving self-management education compared to those receiving usual care, and there is an evident need for more large RCTs with long-term follow-up, before more conclusions can be drawn.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self management for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of self management interventions in COPD is presented, showing that self-management interventions help patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) acquire and practise the skills they need to carry out disease-specific medical regimens, guide changes in health behaviour and provide emotional support to enable patients to control their disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

The prevalence of mental retardation: a critical review of recent literature.

Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of folic acid and zinc sulfate on male factor subfertility: a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial.

TL;DR: Total normal sperm count increases after combined zinc sulfate and folic acid treatment in both subfertile and fertile men, and this finding opens avenues of future fertility research and treatment and may affect public health.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of discontinuation of inhaled corticosteroids in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: the COPE study.

TL;DR: This study indicates that discontinuation of FP in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is associated with a more rapid onset and higher recurrence-risk of exacerbations and a significant deterioration in aspects of Health-Related Quality of Life.
