An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display is disclosed. In one aspect, the display includes a stretchable substrate, a thin film transistor (TFT) formed over the stretchable substrate and including a plurality of electrodes, an OLED electrically connected to the TFT and including a plurality of electrodes, and a plurality of interconnection lines connected to the electrodes of the OLED and the TFT. At least one of the interconnection lines is configured to move in a stretching direction and rotate an electrode selected from the electrodes of the OLED and the TFT connected to the at least one interconnection line.

The present invention provides OLEDs of the top emission type comprising organic light-emitting (LE) elements by preventing the problems such as the widening of the power lines, the reduction in the aperture ratio caused by the widening of the upper and the lower capacitor electrodes and the short circuit between the upper and the lower electrodes caused by the roughness of the flattening layers. Two kinds of the OLEDs are provided. One is an OLED comprising a region of LE layer sandwiched between the upper and lower electrodes is formed on a power line of TFT for driving the pixel. Another comprises a region of the LE layer formed on an electrode of capacitor connected to the TFTs to control the light-emitting element. Accordingly, without forming a flattening layer on the light-emitting layer, there is no electric short circuit between the lower electrode and the upper electrode.

A driving method of an organic light emitting display device includes: classifying a plurality of luminance steps into at least a low luminance section and a high luminance section; and setting a reference luminance at a predefined level during the low luminance section and adjusting an off duty according to predetermined criteria for each step in the low luminance section.

Circuits generally include a driving transistor to drive current through a light emitting device according to programming information which is stored on a storage device, such as a capacitor. One or more switching transistors are generally included to select the circuits for programming, monitoring, and/or emission. Circuits advantageously incorporate emission transistors to selectively couple the gate and source terminals of a driving transistor to allow programming information to be applied to the driving transistor independently of a resistance of a switching transistor.

A system to improve the extraction of transistor and OLED parameters in an AMOLED display includes a pixel circuit having an organic light emitting device, a drive device to provide a programmable drive current to the light emitting device, a programming input to provide the programming signal, and a storage device to store the programming signal. A charge-pump amplifier has a current input and a voltage output. The charge-pump amplifier includes an operational amplifier in negative feedback configuration. The feedback is provided by a capacitor connected between the output and the inverting input of the operational amplifier. A common-mode voltage source drives the non-inverting input of the operational amplifier. An electronic switch is coupled across the capacitor to reset the capacitor. A switch module including the input is coupled to the output of the pixel circuit and an output is coupled to the input of the charge-pump amplifier.

System and methods for extraction of threshold and mobility parameters in AMOLED displays

A circuit and method to improve energy conservation of an AMOLED display. The display includes a matrix of pixels each having an organic light emitting device coupled to a drive transistor. The brightness of the light emitting device is controlled by a programming voltage applied to the gate of the drive transistor. The supply voltage to the drive transistor is adjusted to different levels based on the required brightness of the pixel. Since the drive transistor operates in saturation mode, especially when maximum brightness is desired, the supply voltage may be reduced while maintaining the same brightness level.
