Platforms comprising at least one lymphocyte affecting molecule and at least one molecular complex that, when bound to an antigen, engages a unique clonotype lymphocyte receptor can be used to induce and expand therapeutically useful numbers of specific lymphocyte populations. Antigen presenting platforms comprising a T cell affecting molecule and an antigen presenting complex can induce and expand antigen-specific T cells in the presence of relevant peptides, providing reproducible and economical methods for generating therapeutic numbers of such cells. Antibody inducing platforms comprising a B cell affecting molecule and a molecular complex that engages MHC-antigen complexes on a B cell surface can be used to induce and expand B cells that produce antibodies with particular specificities.

Method and apparatus for securing a workpiece to a fixture plate using an adjustable, low-profile, light-duty workpiece clamp

Workpiece hold-down elements for holding the workpiece between the jaws of a machine vise, said jaws being shaped to prevent the hold-down elements from slipping. The hold-down elements are of channel shape with top and bottom portions thereof connected by a web that is slightly curved. These top and bottom portions are engaged by a face of the vise jaw so that when pressure is exerted on the elements by the vise the work engaging front of each element is pressed against the workpiece. The face of each jaw is provided with a groove for receiving the rear portion of each of the top parts of the hold-down elements to prevent these from slipping with respect to the vise jaws. Accidental displacing the hold-down elements with respect to the workpiece is prevented. The top parts of the hold-down elements are also provided with hardened steel or other metal shoes. The forward parts of the hardened shoes engage the workpiece and these are sufficiently hard to resist wear. The bodies of the elements may be made of softer material such as extruded aluminum or alloys thereof.

Linear adjusting device

An automatic thread cutting machine for nuts and similar mass-produced parts where the nuts or the like are taken from a magazine and moved through a feed trough into a guide where they are held secured against rotation and are then pushed by means of a pusher over a rotating thread cutter from where they are subsequently removed while the pusher is returned to its starting position. The machine is provided with an actuating cylinder which is capable of being charged with a pressure medium and which has a piston rod that is provided at its free end with a plunger serving as the pusher. A clock pulse controlled switch valve arrangement is disposed in the pressure medium line leading to the actuating cylinder, and the machine is electrically protected by a safety device which is influenced by the position of the piston rod, the safety device being rendered operative in dependence on the position of the piston rod.
