Effect of Nanofillers Dispersion in Polymer Matrices: A Review

TL;DR: In this article, a review summarizes recent work on manufacturing of different types of composites with polymer matrices, focusing on the preparation of nanocomposites with individual (nonaggregated) nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of silicon carbide particle sizes on friction-wear properties of friction composites designed for car brake lining applications

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of silicon carbide abrasive of various particle sizes (40, 10, and 3μm) on the friction-wear properties of friction composites based on potassium titanate ceramics is summarized.
Book ChapterDOI

Vermiculite: Structural Properties and Examples of the Use

TL;DR: The effort to clarify the meanings of the terms "clay" and "clays" was the subject of the joint nomenclature committees (JNCs) of the Association Internationale pour l'Etude des Argiles (AIPEA) and the Clay Minerals Society (CMS) as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural ordering of organovermiculite: Experiments and modeling

TL;DR: The modeling could verify that small molecules of n-butylammonium salt build a monolayer structure in the vermiculite gallery without reference to concentration, and low values of the nonbond energy of supersaturated forms predict that those organovermiculites will readily exfoliate, e.g., in polymer/clay nanocomposite.
