A cable cooling apparatus, for dissipating heat generated by a cable, includes a housing disposed on a portion of a cable and defining a fluid-tight cavity therewithin. The housing is configured to cool at least a portion of the cable. The housing also includes one or more inlets, configured to receive fluid in the housing, and one or more outlets in fluid communication with an inlet for discharging the fluid from the housing. The fluid enters the housing through an inlet, circulates through a portion of the housing and absorbs thermal energy from a portion of the cable.

A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus comprising a housing, a pump, a fluid distribution system, and a controller. The pump is mounted in the housing. The pump is adapted for discharging, from a discharge end of the pump, fluid at a different pressure than a fluid pressure available in a machine tool. The fluid distribution system is connected to the discharge end of the pump, the fluid distribution system distributes fluid from the pump to workstations of the machine tool. The fluid distribution system has at least one pair of outlets at the housing for distributing fluid to the workstations of the machine tool. The controller is controllably connected to the fluid distribution system for controlling the fluid distribution system. The controller controls fluid to at least one of the at least one pair of outlets independently from fluid to another one of the at least one pair of outlets of the fluid distribution system.

A drilling system ( 10 ) for drilling holes into concrete includes a drilling tool ( 20 ) attached to a frame ( 22 ) that can be secured to a drilling surface (S) of any orientation and permits (1) manual, (2) manual-power-assisted, or (3) stand-mounted, hands-free operation of the drilling tool ( 20 ). The system ( 10 ) utilizes air pressure, vacuum, gas regulating system, or even magnetism, to secure the frame ( 22 ) of the drilling tool ( 20 ) to the surface (S) and to control the movement of a drill bit ( 34 ) with respect to the surface (S). A fluid delivery system ( 80 ) is used to facilitate certain actions of the drill bit ( 34 ) and to effectively remove debris resulting from drilling from the drilling site. A system for separating a heavy fraction from a liquid includes an upper section, an inlet in fluid connection with the upper section to introduce the liquid into the upper section, an impeller within the upper section to induce rotational flow and fluid pressure to the liquid within an upper section, an a flow restrictor positioned below the impeller. The flow restrictor has a diameter less than the inner diameter of a housing of a lower section so that a gap is formed between the flow restrictor and the housing of the lower section. The system further includes a conduit including an inlet positioned radially inward from an interior wall of the housing of the lower section and axially below the flow restrictor. The conduit further includes an outlet outside of the lower section via which the liquid with a reduced concentration of the heavy fraction exits the lower section (and the system). The lower section may, for example, be generally cylindrical from the top of the gap to a baffle positioned axially below the flow restrictor. The baffle defines a settling section for the heavy fraction. The lower section further includes a slurry outlet in operative communication with the settling section via which a slurry with an increased concentration of the heavy fraction exits the lower section.

Separation devices, systems and methods for separation of particulates from liquid

A programmable, variable volume and pressure, coolant system regulating the amount of coolant flow to a cutting tool by controlling the speed of a coolant pump, and is comprised of a fluid control unit and an electrical control panel. The fluid control unit includes a pump and a AC pump motor operatively connected thereto. The electrical control panel includes: a power supply; circuit breakers; a computer; a variable frequency drive; control relays; and a junction block for making electrical connections to the control panel. The computer receives signals from the tool and a pressure transducer, and is programmed with information concerning the total flow area of the coolant orifices. Using this information, the computer determines an ideal pump speed, and sends a control signal to the variable frequency drive which in turn determines the pump motor speed. The coolant supply system also includes: a coolant supply line for routing coolant from the pump to the tool; a catch pan for collecting recycled coolant from the tool; a filter for removing impurities from the used coolant; a reservoir for storing coolant; and a return line for routing the recycled coolant to the reservoir and from the reservoir to the pump inlet.
