Tailoring the texture of magnesium alloy by twinning deformation to improve the rolling capability

TL;DR: In this paper, a method to weaken the strong basal texture of rolled magnesium alloy by twinning deformation is reported, and the corresponding mechanisms are addressed and discussed, as well as a dramatically increased maximum thickness reduction per pass during subsequent rolling at 300°C is achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improvement of mechanical properties of a cryorolled Al-Mg-Si alloy through warm rolling and aging

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of Al-Mg-Si alloys with and without pre-aging treatment were investigated by tensile tests, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of warm deformation on precipitation and mechanical properties of a cryorolled Al-Zn-Mg-Cu sheet

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of warm rolling on precipitation and mechanical properties of a cryorolled Al-Zn-Mg-Cu sheet was investigated by hardness measurements, tensile tests, Electron backscatter diffraction, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy and atom probe tomography.
Journal ArticleDOI

A weak texture dependence of Hall–Petch relation in a rare-earth containing magnesium alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported a weak texture dependence of k in a rare earth containing Mg-2Zn-1Gd plate with two peaks of (0002) poles inclining approximately ± 30° away from the ND toward the TD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of the hardening behavior during recrystallization annealing in Al-Mg-Sc alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the hardness of Al-3Mg-0.2Sc alloy with a single pass friction stir processing (FSP) was cold rolled, followed by recrystallization annealing.
