Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular epidemiology of hepatitis B, C and D viruses in Turkish patients
A.M. Bozdayi,N. Aslan,Gulendam Bozdayi,A.R. Turkyilmaz,T. Sengezer,U. Wend,Ozlem Erkan,F. Aydemir,S. Zakirhodjaev,S. Orucov,Hakan Bozkaya,W. Gerlich,Selim Karayalcin,Cihan Yurdaydin,Ozden Uzunalimoglu +14 more
TL;DR: The study indicates that Turkish patients with chronic viral hepatitis show very little genotypic heterogeneity, and subtype ayw and the genotype D of HBV DNA, and the type I of HDV RNA represent almost 100% of related infections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complete genome sequence and phylogenetic analysis of hepatitis B virus isolated from turkish patients with chronic HBV infection
Gulendam Bozdayi,A. Resat Türkyilmaz,Ramazan Idilman,Ersin Karatayli,Seyyal Rota,Cihan Yurdaydin,A. Mithat Bozdayi +6 more
TL;DR: The molecular characterization and phylogenetic analysis of 11 complete HBV genomes isolated from 11 naïve patients in Turkey indicate that Turkish patients with chronic hepatitis B infection show very little genotypic heterogeneity.
Journal ArticleDOI
YSDD: a novel mutation in HBV DNA polymerase confers clinical resistance to lamivudine.
A.M. Bozdayi,Ozden Uzunalimoglu,A.R. Turkyilmaz,N. Aslan,O. Sezgin,T. Sahin,Gulendam Bozdayi,Kubilay Cinar,S. B. Pai,Rekha B Pai,Hakan Bozkaya,Selim Karayalcin,Cihan Yurdaydin,Raymond F. Schinazi,Raymond F. Schinazi +14 more
TL;DR: In vitro transfection studies confirmed that the YSDD strain is resistant to lamivudine, and HBV‐specific sequences were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) from sera of patients with breakthrough virus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diversity of human rotavirus G9 among children in Turkey
Gulendam Bozdayi,Bora Dogan,Buket Dalgic,İlknur Bostanci,Sinan Sari,Nergis Oner Battaloglu,Seyyal Rota,Yıldız Dallar,Akira Nishizono,Osamu Nakagomi,Kamruddin Ahmed +10 more
TL;DR: Increased diversity of the G/P type combination and the presence of infection throughout the year in Turkey was a situation similar to developing countries.
Journal Article
Changes in the seroepidemiological pattern of Helicobacter pylori infection over the last 10 years.
TL;DR: The data suggest that the seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection seems to have decreased during the last 10 years in Turkey, and this change may be attributable to the changes in environmental condition and socioeconomic development that have taken place in the country.
