TL;DR: In this paper, an improved extraction geometry enables the laser ion source to accelerate ion currents up to 18 mA(C-ions) and magnetical charge state analysis of the accelerated ion current was performed with different ion species.
Abstract: Further development of our laser ion source [1,2] has led to the possibility of long-term runs in the Van de Graaff. An improved extraction geometry enables us to accelerate ion currents up to 18 mA(C-ions). Magnetical charge state analysis of the accelerated ion current has been performed with different ion species. With these improvements the laser ion source is now suitable for application in physical experiments with accelerators.
