Several arguments suggest that an effective curved space-time structure (of the type as in General Relativity) can actually find its dynamical origin in an underlying condensed medium of spinless quanta. For this reason, we exploit the recent idea of density fluctuations in a `Higgs condensate' with the conclusion that such long-wavelength effects might represent the natural dynamical agent of gravity.

A connection between gravity and the Higgs field

In the `condensed phase' of effective quantum field theories one expects deviations from exact Lorentz invariance at ultralow momenta | k| < delta where the shell 'delta' should only vanish in the strict local limit of the theory when the ultraviolet cutoff 'Lambda' tends to infinity. I explore this idea for the Higgs condensate suggesting that, in this case, the resulting relation connecting 'delta', 'Lambda' and the Fermi scale might provide a simple physical solution of the `hierarchy problem'. In this picture, the Planck scale is not a purely ultraviolet quantity but embodies in its numerical value the peculiar infrared-ultraviolet connection that is realized in the scalar condensate.

Approximate Lorentz invariance of the vacuum: a physical solution of the `hierarchy problem' ?

"There are several interpretations and approaches to relativity. All of them are characterized by the fact that none of them is accepted by physicists without doubts, even the Einsteinian General Relativity! Only those theories can get into the spotlight that predicts something that is different from predictions of other concurrent theories. From this point of view the theory of Janossy [1] is not an excellent idea, as he tried to show that his materialistic approach also corresponds to the general principles and equations of relativity. As his program was basically successful there was not any additional result, except the philosophical part." 
Since the death of Janossy, his work has almost been forgotten. Both what he achieved and what he was not succeeded in. He was one of the founders of KFKI (Central Physics Research Institute of the Hungarian Scientific Academy) but his effort has not been carried over even there, however his collegues are still remember his name and his work. Luckily his books are still available in the Hungarian libraries. Additionally the most informed etherists in the world who are lucky enough to know his work are consider his work as a No1 reference. 
This paper is designated to refresh the idea of the ether based gravitation theory of Janossy and introduce a well founded way to adjust it to be equivalent with the experiences and General Relativity.

Mathematical Equivalency of the Ether Based Gavitation Theory of Janossy and General Relativity

In this paper scalar-tensor gravity is derived from the Schwarzschild solution of General Relativity. The solution is also extende d to a maximal and complete manifold. A well-defined relationship between the scalar product of metric and the scalar field is revealed. A theor etical quantum test particle is constructed on the basis of Compton wavelength a nd General Relativity. It is also demonstrated how the rest mass of such part icle depends on the background geometry of the space, which explains the correlation between the scalar field and the curvature. This paper is a qualitative analysis based on well known textbook computations. The main purpose was rather to introduce and explain how this kind o f quantum gravity related to general relativity, th an to provide a general mathematical solution of this problem. Most of the results were obtained by using pure textbook computations. For the case of simplic ity only the static, spherically symmetric case is covered here. Additional limitation is that albeit this approach might raise several new quantitative questions, most of them are not answered here. The content of this paper is organized into three m ain chapters. In the first chapter ("Geometry and topology of bla ck holes") we analyze Schwarzschild metric, as the simplest solution of General Relativity. First we d iscuss the topology and the geometrical extensions of the solution, then we describe two steps transfo rming the solution into a form, which we consider being appropriate for creating quantum gravity. In the second chapter ("Relationship between (stati c) geometry and gravity") we reveal that there is a well defined relationship between the static curvat ure of space - in this case the Ricci scalar - and the scalar gravitational potential. In the third chapter ("Quantum test particle") as a final step we introduce a special object - a theoretical quantum particle - which is constructed on the basis of General Relativity. We demonstrate how the mass of such particle depends on the curvat ure of the space -explaining at least qualitatively the correspondence between the gravitation potentia l and background curvature.

A pure geometric approach to derive quantum gravity from general relativity

General Relativity is considered to be so far the best gravitation theory. However it is quite hard to use in real situations. The root of these difficulties lays in the non-linearity of the theory. Our aim was not to linearize the theory, but find the source of non-linearity and get rid of it. We found that the resolution can be obtained by defining standards and units properly. We also found that the mathematical method to change the units of General Relativity has been discussed in general almost 40 years ago by Dicke. Linear Relativity can be founded by choosing the right function for his transformation and reinterpret his results.
