Laminate stacking sequence optimization with strength constraints using two-level approximations and adaptive genetic algorithm

TL;DR: By adopting the first-ply failure criterion and considering the stresses/strains for each layer in the ground laminate, the concept of temporal deletion techniques is proposed to extend this approach for handling optimization problems with strength constraints.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vibration isolation and dual-stage actuation pointing system for space precision payloads

TL;DR: This work follows the pointing control method which consists of a traditional spacecraft attitude control system and a payload active pointing loop, further proposing a vibration isolation and dual-stage actuation pointing system for space precision payloads based on a soft Stewart platform.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multi-objective optimal design of hybrid composite laminates for minimum cost and maximum fundamental frequency and frequency gaps

TL;DR: In this paper, the design of hybrid composite laminates made of high-stiffness skin and low-stinkness core layers is presented, where the objective is the simultaneous maximization of fundamental frequency (or the gap between two consecutive frequencies) and minimization of cost by seeking the optimal stacking sequences of both skin and core layers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stability and control of tethered satellite with chemical propulsion in orbital plane

TL;DR: In this paper, the dynamics equations of tethered system in orbital maneuvering are established, and analytical solutions of the equilibrium position for librational angle are derived during maneuvering in orbital plane; meanwhile, the effects of propulsive coefficients on librations stability are analyzed, which provides a basis for a selection of expected attitude trajectory.
Journal ArticleDOI

Librational characteristics of a dumbbell modeled tethered satellite under small, continuous, constant thrust

TL;DR: In this article, the librational angles of a tethered satellite were derived under a small, continuous, constant thrust in the transversal, tangential, radial and binormal directions.
