The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the LMS-Google Classroom-based Flipped-Problem Based Learning model in the process of learning mathematics in high schools in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. In this study also saw the interaction between the level of Prior Mathematics Ability (PMA) of students with the application of flipped-problem based learning models based on LMS-Google Classroom. PMA students consist of high, medium and low. The Flipped-Problem Based Learning Model based on LMS-Google Classroom is a learning model that combines digital class-based learning and face-to-face learning. This research is quasi-experiment research with pre-test post-test control group design. The sample in this study was the second level high school students from two schools totaling 62 people. The results of the study were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 with Two-way ANAVA Test and Post Hoc-LSD Test. Based on the analysis test, it was found that the average mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the Flipped-Problem Based Learning model based on Google Classroom LMS experienced a significant increase compared to conventional learning. The results of the questionnaire in learning also obtained results that students at the second level of high school felt enthusiastic, motivated and eager to take part in learning in the classroom. Digital-based learning with the model of Flipped-Problem Based Learning based on LMS-Google Classroom provides a new experience for second-level students in High School in participating in mathematics learning both in class and outside the classroom.

The Effect of Flipped-Problem Based Learning Model Integrated With LMS-Google Classroom for Senior High School Students

The Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) creates challenges for Arabic learning at Indonesian Islamic Colleges. The limitations of the language learning process during the pandemic caused various problems. In addition, using learning strategies requires special planning related to differences in face-to-face learning processes into learning with online systems. Arabic is a compulsory subject that helps students acquire communication skills in a foreign language. This research describes students' perceptions of Arabic online learning at a public Islamic college in Malang. It also examines the strategies for learning during the COVID-19 emergency. The study uses a qualitative approach for data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Research samples were taken from students in semester 2nd to semester 6th with varying abilities. The data analysis is carried out using triangulation techniques in several steps, and involves collection, reduction, and conclusion. The results showed that students perceive Arabic online learning to be less effective. Some factors that do not support online learning such as the lack of instructions given by lecturers, limited internet connection, lack of internal motivation of students, lack of discussion hours. Several strategies are used, including discussions, lectures, singing, presentations, studying literature, and writing. The use of Arabic learning resources in online media illustrates the process of independent learning for students. The results provide input for integrating all components of learning holistically and variedly for students to remain motivated irrespective of the condition. This study recommends other researchers to examine and improve what skills teachers need to have when learning online and efforts to increase student interest in the language learning process with an online system.

Student’s perceptions of Arabic online learning during COVID-19 emergency

The integration of technology and learning has become the primary key in developing various Arabic learning models in emergencies of the COVID-19 era. This study aims to describe and uncover the impact of technology on the learning process of Arabic on four Arabic language skills. This research uses a qualitative approach design utilizing the case study research method. Data obtained through observation techniques, interviews, and documentation with data analysis techniques using the theory of Milles and Huberman. The results revealed that the impact of technology on learning Arabic included several aspects of innovation in curriculum planning, implementation of learning, strategy development, and evaluation that varied online. The findings of this study are that the integration of technology with Arabic learning can improve creative and critical thinking processes and form a constructivist mindset. This study recommends that the use of appropriate technology for four language skills will affect Arabic learning outcomes to the maximum.

Managing the challenges of digital divide among first year students : a case of UKZN.

As technology becomes more ubiquitous in society, education cannot ignore the impact it is having on education. This research seeks to understand how Digital Native educators are using Digital Habitats in their professional practice. By gaining a deeper understanding of how educators use Digital Habitats, including their tools, like hashtags and pins, we can begin to develop ways to incorporate these skills into our teacher preparation programs. The knowledge gained from this study can help administrators, technology leaders and coaches to better understand their Digital Native teachers and how they are using these technology tools in their professional practice. This qualitative study was conducted with six public-school Digital Native educator participants. Data was collected in the form of interviews, focus groups, digital archives, observations and documents. The data was coded, categorized and analyzed for thematic revelations. Some of the key findings supported established literature and others extended and refined the current knowledge base. Overall, the findings of the study demonstrate the participants’ interesting and excessive usage of their Digital Habitats personally and professionally. The gregarious nature of the Digital Native educators in this study supported their infusion of Digital Habitat elements into their personal and professional landscapes.
