Experimental study of a bio-inspired flapping wing MAV by means of force and PIV measurements

TL;DR: In this article, the aerodynamic performance of an X-wing bio-inspired flapping wing micro air vehicle (MAV) underlying clap-and-fling motion by means of force and flow field measurements was explored.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical study on reducing aerodynamic drag and noise of circular cylinders with non-uniform porous coatings

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a numerical study on the flow and noise control of circular cylinders with non-uniform porous coating over the circumference in the subcritical flow regime (R e = 4.7 × 10 4 ).
Journal ArticleDOI

Vortex shedding noise and flow mode analysis of cylinder with full/partial porous coating

TL;DR: In this paper, the characteristics of vortex shedding and noise of a circular cylinder with full and partial porous coating are studied numerically to learn the optimal structure design of coating structure, which can improve the stability of the flow field which consequently reduce the flow-induced noise.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reduced order model for unsteady aerodynamic performance of compressor cascade based on recursive RBF

TL;DR: In this article, a reduced order model (ROM) of compressor cascade was established to meet the urgent demand of highly efficient prediction of unsteady aerodynamics performance of turbomachinery, and a novel ROM called ASA-RRBF model based on Adaptive Simulated Annealing (ASA) algorithm was developed to enhance the generalization ability of the ROM.
