Reduced power electronic lock system

A locking system is provided for doors with a bolt unit (16) installed on the inside and a control unit (18) installed on the outside of the door (12). The bolt unit (16) has a casing (54) enclosing a bolt (66) displaceable between a projected, locking position and a withdrawn, unlocking position. A solenoid device (60) has an armature (64) being displaceable between electromagnetically induced attracted and repelled positions. Linkage means (68) are coupled between the armature (64) and the bolt (66) to drive the bolt between the unlocking and locking positions, respectively. A pass code may be entered into the control unit (18), and in response, the solenoid (60) may be actuated by a current pulse into the unlocked position of the bolt (66), in addition, a reverse current pulse actuates the solenoid (60) into the locked position of the bolt (66).

Door locking system

A power management lock system including an electronic lock unit configured to lock and unlock a door and further including at least one sensor in communication with the electronic lock unit, the sensor configured to sense an open condition of the door and a closed condition of the door, wherein the electronic lock unit is configured to receive door data pertaining to the open condition and the closed condition from the at least one sensor, and where the electronic lock unit is further configured to manage the provision of power within the electronic unit based upon the door data.

Refrigerator shelf led lighting

A system for providing wire-free and contact free electric power and communication connection in a security installation between a door and a frame. The cores, windings, and control circuits of first and second portions of a split core transformer are disposed in the frame and the door, respectively. Power applied to the first portion induces a voltage and current in the second portion when the door is in a closed position. Modulation of the voltage amplitude in either the first or second portion defines a communication signal between the door and the frame. Status and data are transmitted at data rates that are essentially twice the frequency of the voltage applied to the split core transformer. In a second embodiment, voltage transfer occurs at 20 KHz and data transfer is in the range of 100K baud.
