An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed to manage the generation and use of hybrid electric power. A monitoring module 202 receives signals from one or more sensors 116. The signals comprise power level information of an electric energy storage device, power level information of one or more energy converters 102/104, and power level information of an electric load. A determination module 204 compares the signals to determine whether electric power from the energy converters 102/104 satisfies the electric load. A regulation module 206 adjusts the electric power from the energy converters 102/104 in response to a determination by the determination module 204 that the electric power from the energy converters 102/104 does not satisfy an electric load threshold.

A wind turbine generator control system is provided for controlling output of a plurality of tightly-coupled windfarms 10, 15, 20 connected at a point of common 25 coupling with a power system grid 30. A master reactive control device 75 employs algorithms 295, 380 whose technical effect is to coordinate the real power, reactive power and voltage output of the multiple windfarms. The master reactive control device 75 incorporates a reactive power regulator 100A that can be used to regulate reactive power, power factor or voltage at the point of common coupling 25 and an active power regulator 300 that can be used to regulate real power at the point of common coupling 25, such that each windfarm 10, 15, 20 is not asked to contribute or violate its own operating capability.

Individual preform layers include multiple elongate unidirectional strength elements or rods arranged in a single layer along a longitudinal axis of the preform layer. Each preform layer includes one or more fibrous carrier layers to which the multiple strength elements or rods are joined and arranged in the single layer. Each strength element or rod is longitudinally oriented and adjacent to other elements or rods. Individual strength elements or rods include a mass of substantially straight unidirectional structural fibers embedded within a matrix resin such that the elements or rods have a substantially uniform distribution of fibers and high degree of fiber collimation. The relative straightness of the fibers and fiber collimation provide strength elements or rods and the preform layers with high rigidity and significant compression strength.
