Simar and Wilson two-stage efficiency analysis for Stata:
Oleg Badunenko,Harald Tauchmann +1 more
TL;DR: The new command simarwilson is introduced, which implements either variant of the suggested estimator in Stata and allows for analyzing both output and input-oriented efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficiency of two-step estimators for censored systems of equations: Shonkwiler and Yen reconsidered
TL;DR: In this paper, a parametric estimator for a system of equations with limited dependent variables that was recently proposed was compared with those of alternative estimation procedures using Monte Carlo methods, and the comparison showed that this new estimator is less efficient for a wide range of parameter regions than multivariate generalizations of the classical Heckman model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Smoking initiation in Germany: the role of intergenerational transmission.
TL;DR: An ambiguous effect of the timing of parental smoking cessation is found, arguing against role-model effects being a key determinant for smoking initiation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elasticities of market shares and social health insurance choice in germany: a dynamic panel data approach
TL;DR: Estimation results suggest that short-run price elasticities are smaller than previously found by other studies, but in the long-run, however, estimation results suggest substantial price effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Partial frontier efficiency analysis
TL;DR: Despite their frequent use in applied work, nonparametric approaches to efficiency analysis, such as data envelopment analysis and free disposal hull, have bad reputations among econometricians as mentioned in this paper.
