Electricity consumption and economic growth in Jamaica

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth in Jamaica during 1970-86, a period of rapid increase in energy prices and found that the aggregate demand for electricity is slightly income elastic, electricity has a significant impact on economic growth, the electricity intensity has increased over time, residential demand is fairly income elastic and commercial demand is price inelastic.

The black-market exchange rate and currency substitution in a small open economy: An empirical analysis of Barbados

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provided empirical evidence of currency substitution in Barbados between 1973 and 1986, using the black-market premium as one of the independent variables, and their statistical significance indicates the existence of substitution in the demand for only M1, which could render stabilization policies ineffective.
