A method and apparatus for thermally reacting one or more inorganic materials, the method involves the step of maintaining a flame in a combustion chamber at a predetermined reaction temperature by supplying a sufficient quantity of a hydrocarbon fuel and oxygen into the flame through a fluid stream comminuting the inorganic materials to be reacted to a particle size which can be transported by gas flow and suspending the comminuted inorganic compound in an intimate admixture with the fluid stream containing the hydrocarbon fuel and oxygen and passing the admixture to the interior of the flame to effect thermal reaction of the particulate inorganic material. The apparatus can comprise a blower, a grinding means, a furnace means, and a means for collecting the reacted material. Cementitious products may be obtained from calcareous, argillaceous, siliceous, aluminous and ferruginous materials, particularly fly ash.

Co-production of cementitious products

The invention relates to a single-phase amorphous hydraulic binder that contains silicon atoms, calcium atoms and oxygen atoms in an arrangement that comprises silicate-structural units having an average degree of cross-linking of at least Q1. None or one part of the calcium atoms are replaced by a metal atom M[6]x+ that is coordinated at least six-times with oxygen and/or none or at most 45 atom % of the silicon atoms are replaced by a metal atom M[4]y+ that is tetrahedrally coordinated with oxygen. The molar ratio [CaO + (x/2) • (M[6]x+Ox/2)] : [SiO2 + M[4]y+Oy/2] has a value of between 0.2 and 1.5 and the binder has less than 3.5% in weight of water. The invention also relates to a mixture containing said binder. The invention further relates to a method for producing said binder or a mixture containing said binder by reaction grinding a starting material that contains silicate structural units having a degree of cross-linking of Q0 to Q2, with a solid silicate raw material having a degree of cross-linking of the silicate structural units of Q3 to Q4 and optionally, drying the single-phase hydraulic binder until a water content of less than 3.5% in weight is reached. The invention also relates to a construction material that is produced by binding the binder or a mixture containing said binder with water and subsequently hardening it.

Single-phase hydraulic binder, methods for the production thereof and building material produced therewith

Apparatus and methods produce substantially continuous batches of high-strength concrete. Portland cement, flyash, sand, water, and concrete chemical additives are premixed in a multi-stage process, prior to final mixing with the coarse aggregates. In sequence, the complete mixing process includes: 1) a twin-shaft compulsory mixer to blend the materials, then disposing the mixture into; 2) a horizontal screw conveyor, continuously mixing as the mixture passes through the housing, thereby disposed simultaneously with the coarse aggregates into; and 3) the mixer concrete delivery truck, wherein the concrete is mixed further.

The invention also relates to a mixture containing said binder. The invention further relates to methods for producing said binder or a mixture containing said binder by reaction grinding a starting material that contains silicate structural units having a degree of cross-linking of Q0 to Q2, and optionally other materials with a silicate raw material having a degree of cross-linking of the silicate structural units of Q3 to Q4 and optionally, drying the single-phase hydraulic binder until a water content of between 3.5% and 20% in weight is reached. The invention also relates to a construction material that is produced by binding said binder or a mixture containing said binder with water and subsequently hardening it.

A process for plant scale production of cement wherein the materials including at least calcium oxide, silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide are subjected to the steps of grinding to approximately a 200 mesh size, drying to less than 5% water by weight of the materials when mixed, blending to a uniform mixture and compounding in a high velocity compounding mill.
