Synthesis and reactions of cyclic acetal derivatives of 6,6′-dichloro-6,6′-dideoxysucrose☆

TL;DR: The structures of 1 and 2 have been confirmed by 1 H-n.m.n.r. spectroscopy and by chemical transformations as mentioned in this paper, respectively, and they yield the corresponding 2,3 and 3,4-acetal derivatives in yields of 29% and 9%, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sucrose octabenzoate: assignment of 13C and 1H resonances of the sucrose moiety and the 13C resonances of the carbonyl carbons. Use of 13C-n.m.r. spectroscopy for the study of selective deacylation.

TL;DR: With this assignment, products of partial deacylation of the octabenzoate may readily be identified by treatment with excess of benzoyl-carbonyl-13C chloride followed by measurement of the 13C-n.m.r.s. spectrum of a sucrose octabanzoate specifically labelled with 13C in some of the carbonyl groups.

Male fertility-inhibiting compositions of 6-chlorodeoxy-saccharides

TL;DR: A male fertility-inhibiting composition in unit dosage form, contains as an active ingredient a 6-chlorodeoxy-saccharide containing a pyranose or furanose ring of the formula where A represents the remainder of the pyraneose ring, and has the formula C 4 H 7 O 4 X (where X represents a hydrogen atom or another pyrano-or furanoses ring) in association with a physiologically acceptable carrier or excipient as mentioned in this paper.
