Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, it is argued that traditional ways of looking at social class are not only sexist but also highly unreliable in accounting for women, and this is illustrated by a small-scale study of IUD users indicating considerable differences between social class as assessed by own and social class assessed by partner's occupation, and it is necessary for bodies at the top of the credibility hierarchy to recognize that there is a problem here and attempt to produce data of a more reliable and less sexist nature.
