TL;DR: Analysis of the transient stability problem-solving process indicates that it is an iterative design procedure, and portions of this procedure are analogous to a closed-loop feedback control system.
Abstract: Expert system concepts are developed for use with power system stability studies, and proof of the concepts is provided in a prototype computer program. An analysis of the transient stability problem-solving process indicates that it is an iterative design procedure. Portions of this procedure are analogous to a closed-loop feedback control system. Expert system procedures are used to provide the user with guidance in conducting stability studies and with the formation of conclusions. >

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose to improve the efficiency of a data retrieval by displaying a retrieval process and the present position in the whole data base on a host computer at the time of retrieving a video data base.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a data retrieval, and to grasp and man age the whole data base by displaying a retrieval process and the present retriev al position in the whole data base on a host computer at the time of retrieving a video data base. CONSTITUTION:A flow for designating a designation node at a host computer 11 side is a first means, and a flow for selecting a designation node at a personal computer 3 side, transmitting it to the host computer 11, determining the next designation node based on menu data by the host computer 11, and displaying video data on the personal computer 3 is a second means. That is, the host computer 11 manages a video data base by a tree expression consisting of a node and a branch, and designates video data for executing an arbitrary retrieval by the first and the second means. By a general view and a partial enlarged view of the tree expression, the retrieval process and the present retrieval position, etc. are displayed on a display 12 of the host computer 11, and a user can monitor momentarily a retrieving state.

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated vision control-based system is developed that measures the variations in the system under control and produces appropriate corrective control signals to overcome the inaccuracies observed in the fabrication process.
Abstract: The authors present the application of an intelligent control procedure to a machine vision system. The vision system is used for defect and out-of-tolerance inspection of parts where there are variations in the assembly fabrication. The variations are due to nonlinearity in the system behavior or noise influencing the system under control. These variations cause inaccuracy in assembly of parts and poor-quality products. The system presented illustrates the application of an intelligent controller procedure to a vision system. An integrated vision control-based system is developed that measures the variations in the system under control and produces appropriate corrective control signals to overcome the inaccuracies observed in the fabrication process. This is an adaptive control procedure, and, if the output behavior changes, the corrective signals also change. The real-time implementation of the system increases efficiency and uptime in the system. >
