A thermal recording material comprising a support and, sequentially superimposed thereon, an undercoating layer, which contains a pigment and a binder as main components, and a thermal recording layer, which contains an achromatic or hypochromic basic colorless dye and a developer capable of reacting with the basic colorless dye to thereby realize color formation as main components, wherein the undercoating layer comprises a carboxymethylcellulose exhibiting an etherification degree of 0.55 to 0.75. Causing the undercoating layer to further contain hydroxymethylcellulose is preferred from the viewpoint of high effectiveness.

Provided is a control device for an internal-combustion engine provided with a throttle valve installed in an intake path. A full intake air amount, which is the intake air amount corresponding to when the throttle valve is fully open, is calculated in accordance with engine revolution speed, and a theoretical intake air amount, which corresponds to when engine exhaust gas does not recirculate to a combustion chamber, is calculated in accordance with the full intake air amount and an intake pressure. An actual intake air amount of the engine is detected or estimated, and an exhaust gas recirculation rate is calculated using the theoretical intake air amount and the actual intake air amount. The engine is controlled using the calculated exhaust gas recirculation rate.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel high-pressure steam sterilizer capable of preventing a slide of a lock pin until the pressure within a chamber drops to approximately the same level as the atmospheric pressure. SOLUTION: Even when high pressure steam sterilization is finished, an exhaust valve 31 is in an elevated position and sliding of the lock pin 9 is regulated by the operation of a lock mechanism 13 as long as the pressure within the chamber 2 is higher than the atmospheric pressure. When aftertreatments, such as discharge of liquid within the chamber 2 or exhaustion or the like, are carried out successively and the pressure within the chamber 2 drops to approximately the same level as the atmospheric pressure, the exhaust valve 31 goes down to the inside of the chamber 2 and a signal from a limit switch 32 is blocked. An off delay timer 36 then responds to the blockade, and sliding regulation by the lock mechanism 13 is canceled after a predetermined time to make the lock pin 9 slidable. An exhaust port 30 on the upper part of the chamber and the exhaust valve 31 slidable in the vertical direction freely to open and close the exhaust port work as both a simply structured exhaust apparatus and a detecting means 12. With such a configuration, the detecting means can detect that the pressure within the chamber 2 drops to approximately the same level as the atmospheric pressure and the lock state can be released in a safer state using the off delay timer 36. The reinforcing bracket 1 comprises a base part 1a abutting against the chassis 20, a supporting part 1b disposed above the base part 1a and abutting against the rear surface of the circuit board 3, and an inclining part 1c coupling the babe part 1a and the supporting part 1b. The chassis 20 comprises a protrusion 2a and a hook 2b for holding the base part la of the reinforcing bracket 1.

PREPARATION:A 4-substituted phenol expressed by formula II (Ar' is phenyl, 2-(p-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propyl, etc.) is reacted with a lower alkylsulfonyl halide expressed by the formula RSO2X (X is halogen) in the presence of an amine to afford the compound expressed by formula I.
