A vehicle seat with a side airbag apparatus includes a seat back having a seat frame, a side airbag apparatus having an airbag and an inflator, and an entry preventing portion. The seat frame includes a pressure receiving plate and an outer frame portion, which surrounds the pressure receiving plate. The airbag and the inflator are installed in the outer side section of the seat back. The airbag includes a main inflation portion and an auxiliary inflation portion. The auxiliary inflation portion is inflated on the front side of the pressure receiving plate prior to inflation of the main inflation portion, thereby pushing the occupant toward the inner side. The entry preventing portion prevents the auxiliary inflation portion being inflated from entering the gap between the outer frame portion and the pressure receiving plate.

An occupant restraint device including: right and left airbags stored inside right and left sides of a seat back of a vehicle seat, respectively; right and left tension cloths connected to outer surfaces of the right and left airbags, respectively; and a lower tension cloth disposed inside a seat cushion of a vehicle seat, the lower tension cloth being continuously connected between lower parts of the right and left tension cloths. The lower tension cloth is movable in right and left directions with respect to an occupant sitting in the vehicle seat. When the right and left airbags are expanded and deployed, the right tension cloth, the left tension cloth, and the lower tension cloth are configured to push the expanded and deployed right and left airbags toward the occupant.

In a vehicular seat (10) installed with a side airbag device, an inside bag (36) completes inflation and deployment earlier than a side air bag body (34), on the inner side of the side airbag body in the vehicle width direction, and presses an occupant inward in the vehicle width direction. The inside bag inflates and deploys at an upper level than the abdominal region (B) of the occupant. Further, reaction force is applied inward from a reaction force plate (38) supported by an outer side frame (24), to the inside bag. The reaction force plate extends in a vehicle front-back direction, and extends toward the front beyond a front edge portion (24F) of the outer side frame (24). Thus, reaction force can be favorably applied to the inside bag, even at a level where the inside bag is unlikely to receive reaction force from the outer side frame.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve initial occupant restraint performance of an inside bag at the time of lateral collision.SOLUTION: In a vehicle seat 10, an inside bag 36 completes inflation and deployment earlier than a side airbag body 34 in a vehicle width direction inner side of the side airbag body 34, and presses an occupant P to the vehicle width direction inner side. Since the inside bag 36 inflates and deploys more on a vehicle upper side from an abdominal part B of the occupant P, the abdominal part B having low load resistance can be prevented from being pressed by the inside bag 36. Further, a reaction force is applied to the inside bag 36 toward the vehicle width direction inner side from a reaction force plate 38 supported by an outer side frame 24. The reaction force plate 38 extends in a vehicle longitudinal direction in a flat cross-sectional view of a seat back 14, and extends more to a vehicle front side from a front edge part 24F of the outer side frame 24 in a veh icle width direction view.
