Compositions, systems and methods that allow for the detection of the actual physical delivery of a pharmaceutical agent to a body are provided. Embodiments of the compositions include an identifier and an active agent. The invention finds use in a variety of different applications, including but not limited to, monitoring of therapeutic regimen compliance, tracking the history of pharmaceutical agents, etc.

Ingestible event marker systems that include an ingestible event marker (i.e., an IEM) and a personal signal receiver are provided. Embodiments of the IEM include an identifier, which may or may not be present in a physiologically acceptable carrier. The identifier is characterized by being activated upon contact with a target internal physiological site of a body, such as digestive tract internal target site. The personal signal receiver is configured to be associated with a physiological location, e.g., inside of or on the body, and to receive a signal the IEM. During use, the IEM broadcasts a signal which is received by the personal signal receiver.

Ingestible Event Marker Systems

Deployable antennas for in-body devices, such as implantable and ingestible devices, are provided. Aspects of the in-body deployable antennas of the invention include antennas configured to go from a first configuration to a second configuration following placement in a living body, e.g., via ingestion or implantation. Embodiments of the in-body devices are configured to emit a detectable signal upon contact with a target physiological site. Also provided are methods of making and using the devices of the invention.

The system of the present invention includes an implantable device that can detect high and low frequency current signature. The implantable device can communicate with a communication device that includes a conductive element, an electronic component, and a partial power source in the form of dissimilar materials. Upon contact with a conducting fluid, the communication device is activated.

Systems and Methods for Reduced Format Data Processing

Circuitry and method for synchronizing operating speeds of signal processing devices to the data rate of a signal. It applies in particular to Compact Disk (CD) and Digital Versatile Disk (DVD) drives to be used with portable devices. The circuitry does not require clock synchronization speeds in excess of the instantaneous data rate used by the disk drive and also reduces power consumption.

Wide capture range circuitry

The present invention discloses a fully integrated data synchronization circuit for a disk drive read channel system. The data synchronization system comprises dual data synchronizers to provide read reference clocks. Dual PLL circuits are coupled to the data synchronizers to provide a stable reference frequency to data synchronizers. One of the two data synchronizers is used to obtain leading edge data, while the other is for trailing edge data. Each PLL circuit comprises a phase detector, a charge pump, and a VCO. A loop filter is used in conjunction with a charge pump to control loop characteristics of the PLLs. In an idle mode, one of the PLLs is used as a time base generator to provide a stable reference frequency to data synchronizers. Once data synchronizers achieve lock using the stable reference frequency and switch over to read data, the time base generator PLL is switched over to function as a data synchronizer PLL in a read mode. Thus, one of the PLLs is used as both time base generator and data synchronizer PLL, thereby eliminating the need for extra PLL circuitry and requiring only two PLL circuits to support time base generation and data synchronization.
