A vehicle cockpit assembly includes a dash insulator that is configured to be attached to a vehicle firewall, an instrument panel attached to the dash insulator, and a floor covering also attached to the dash insulator. A plurality of apertures are formed through the dash insulator, each of which is configured to overlie a respective opening in a vehicle firewall when attached thereto. Each aperture is configured to sealably receive an item extending therethrough such that substantially no gaps exist between the item and the substrate. Polyurethane may be added to one or more selected portions of the dash insulator to reflect and/or absorb sound.

The assembly comprises a base spring layer made with a base of a resilient porous material, and the base spring layer being intended to be placed opposite a surface of the automobile. It comprises a stiffening layer arranged above the base spring layer and having a surface density greater than 250 g/m2 and at least one resilient porous upper layer arranged on the stiffening layer. The stiffening layer is made with a base of a dense porous material having a resistance to air flow strictly greater than 2000 N·m−3·s. The assembly advantageously has an upper resistive layer.

The present technology provides a rubber composition for a tire which improves the low rolling resistance, dry performance, wet performance, and workability so as to surpass conventional levels. In the rubber composition for a tire according to the present technology, silica is blended into the composition in an amount of 90 to 150 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber containing at least 25 mass % of a modified conjugated diene polymer rubber having a siloxane structure in at least some of the terminal-modifying groups. A silane coupling agent is blended into the composition in an amount of 3 to 20 mass % relative to the amount of silica, and an alkyltriethoxysilane having an alkyl group with 7 to 20 carbons is blended in an amount of 0.1 to 20 mass % relative to the amount of silica.

Sound absorbency is imparted on a panel, which has increased strength and rigidity, by laminating a foam resin that is not naturally permeable and does not absorb sound, and surface sheets that are not naturally permeable and do not absorb sound. A sound absorption panel (1), obtained by laminating a foam resin (20) comprising closed cells and aluminum alloy sheets (10) (metal sheets), has a plurality of holes (30) formed therein, which penetrate the foam resin (20) and the aluminum alloy sheets (10) in the thickness direction. The holes (30) are formed by forcing a needle (40) (hole-forming means) through the foam resin (20) and the aluminum alloy sheets (10).

SOLUTION: This hot-melt adhesive for the interior automotive trim is obtained by mixing (B) a tackifier resin in an amount of 50-800 pts.wt. and (C) a liquid hydrocarbon having a melt viscosity of of ≤55,000 mPa.s at 100°C in an amount of 50-300 pts.wt. into (A) a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer, a styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer, a hydrogenated product of the styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer, and/or a hydrogenated product of the styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer in an amount of 100 pts.wt., wherein components having a molecular weight of ≤400 are contained in the hot-melt adhesive in an amount of <7 wt.% based on the total amount of the mixed materials (A), (B), and (C). SOLUTION: The foamed plastic has an air flow resistance value within a specific range. In the method for manufacturing the thermoplastic resin foam material comprising the foamed plastic having sound-absorbing capacity, foamable beads are prefoamed under heating at the time of foam molding of the foamed plastic to be increased in volume, and the prefoamed foamable beads are foamed under heating to generate gaps in the foam material obtained by foam molding so as to provide the air flow resistance value within the specific range to the foam material. Foamed plastic having air permeability and method for manufacturing the same

To provide a foamed plastic provided with holes having a specified area at a specified aperture ratio. The holes are either a through-hole or a non-through-hole and properly provided. The foamed plastic is superior in sound absorbing property and has a strength. In the case of non-through-holes, the foamed plastic can beep a sound absorbing effect as well as a sound intercepting effect, and for example, when used as a cushioning material of collision to be used as the lower portion of a dash panel of a motorear, not only the cushioning of collision but also the absorption of noises from an engine can be achieved. On the other hand, a foamed plastic obtained by pre-foaming foamable beads and again foaming the pre-foamed beads is a foamed plastic having gas permeability, which is different from usual foamed plastics. In this case, when an air current resistance value is set within a specified range, an audible sound of a human being can be most effectively absorbed. Thus, the latter foamed plastic can also be used as a cushioning material of collision and the like similar to the former foamed plastic.

Sound absorptive foamed plastic and production method thereof

PURPOSE: To enhance a sound absorption performance and a sound insulation performance by arranging a fiber having a specific size to occupy a specific weight percentage of a total amount of fiber. CONSTITUTION: A fibrous raw material is prepared in such a fashion that fiber whose fibrous size is 30μ or less, preferably 10μ or less may be included by 20wt.% of a total amount of fiber out of fibrous raw material which comprises organic or inorganic natural fiber or synthetic fiber. thermosetting resin or thermoplastic resin is mixed with the fibrous raw material, thereby producing fleece. CONSTITUTION: In a method for applying an adhesive to the sound insulator at the time of bonding and laminating a sheetlike sound insulator to a sound absorbing material, (1) a netlike material through which a liquid adhesive can be permeated and which is previously fixed to a frame is partially provided with part through which the adhesive can not be permeated, (2) the netlike material is piled on the sheetlike insulator, (3) the liquid adhesive is applied to the whole face of the netlike material, (4) the netlike material is removed and (5) the sheetlike sound insulator is bonded and laminated to sound absorbing material to give the objective method for applying the adhesive in production of a molded sound insulating material.
