The process enables surfaces of wood-based flat elements (10) to be printed, and comprises a preliminary step of graphic composition by means of an electronic processor and relative software, and a printing step. To print the wood-based flat elements an ink-jet printer (12) is used controlled by the electronic processor, said flat element moving relative to the printer (12) during the printing operation.

Flat articles are taken over from a supply device supplying the products e.g. in the form of an imbricated stream and, for creating groups, are transferred to a conveying-away device. Thereby the supply direction and the conveying-away direction are angled in the horizontal plan view. A conveyor chain for gripping and conveying paper material (15, 16, 19, 20) has a plurality of links (22) hingedly connected to each other. At least one of the links (22) has a grip arm (23) having a first grip surface (24). The grip arm (23) is movable back and forth relative to a second grip surface (25) of the chain (9) between a grip position for holding paper material (15, 16, 19, 20) and a retracted position for insertion of the paper material (15, 16, 19, 20) between the first and second grip surfaces (24, 25). The links (22) are molded of plastic material. The or each grip arm (23) is an integrally molded portion of one of the links (22).

The textile surface (12) has several openings (14,24,34) forming patterns. The surface (12) comprises at least two hole patterns with groups of openings (14,24,34). The diameter of an opening from one hole pattern deviates from the diameter of the opening in another group by a factor of at least five.

Printed products are guided from an infeed to a delivery belt by a plurality of partially overlapping paddle blades. The paddle blades are secured to an endless carrier such as a chain or a toothed belt. Device for guiding printing products

The invention relates to a device for guiding printed products via overlapping buckets (12). Said products are stream fed on to a conveyor (9). In accordance with the invention, this is done by fitting the buckets (12) on an endless chain (19) in a way that they can swivel. This enables the printed products to slip out of the buckets more smoothly and improves the quality of delivery.
