Journal ArticleDOI

Catalysis by doped oxides.

TL;DR: The article discusses oxidation catalysis by substitutional cation doping of binary oxides by assuming that the 'as-prepared' catalyst is a doped oxide that, under reducing reaction conditions, is converted to very small metallic dopant clusters supported on the host oxide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface enhanced spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the physical processes occuring when solid surfaces are used to modify, in a substantial way, the spectroscopic properties of molecules located nearby are reviewed, which is achieved by enhancement of the local laser field, increase in molecular emission, and decrease in excited state lifetime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Catalysis by doped oxides : CO oxidation by AuxCe1- xO2

TL;DR: Density functional theory calculations for the CeO 2 surface doped with Au, Ag, and Cu show that the bond between the oxygen atoms and the oxide is weakened by presence of the dopant as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

CO2 methanation on Ru-doped ceria

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the methanation of CO2 catalyzed by ceria doped with Ni, Co, Pd, or Ru, and found that Ce 0.95Ru0.05O2 was the best catalysts.
Journal ArticleDOI

The interaction between electromagnetic resonances and its role in spectroscopic studies of molecules adsorbed on colloidal particles or metal spheres

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the modification of optical properties of two metal spheres brought about by their electromagnetic interactions, and computed the excitation spectrum of the two sphere system and studied the shape and the magnitude of the local fields.
