The present invention is yellow toner for color laser printer and its preparation process. The yellow toner is prepared with Permanent yellow 3-8 weight portions, polyester resin 80-92 weight portions, polypropylene wax 3-7 weight portions, charging material 1-4 weight portions, silica 4-9 weight portions and azo dye 1-1.5 weight portions, and through mixing, extruding, crushing, sieving and other steps. Using the yellow toner can obtain fadeless clear graph and text in lowered printing cost and reduced printer fault rate.

PURPOSE:To obtain a yellow toner having a practically sufficient hue, lighthness, and excitation purity in a constant image density and superior color reproduction performance by incorporating as a colorant a specified insoluble disazo compound. CONSTITUTION:The colorant of the insoluble disazo pigment classified into the C.I.Pigment Yellow 17 (21105) is incorporated in an amount of 1-5wt.% of a binder resin, and it has an excitation purity of >=75%, a main wavelength of 570-575nm, and a lightness of 74 under a standard light source when it is transferred and fixed on a transfer paper having a whiteness of 70-90% so as to give an image density of 1.1-1.2, and if it is added in an amount of less than 1wt.%, the excitation purity is deteriorated, and color reproduction performance is lowered, and if the addition amount exceeds 5wt.% color development density becomes too high and deteriorates color reproduction, so both cases are not desirable.

Nonmagnetic one-component type yellow toner

PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a toner of small grain sizes by incorporating a material which generates gas by heating into a raw material at the time of producing toner lumps, then foaming the raw material by heating so that cells of specific size exist in the toner lumps. CONSTITUTION:The material which generates the gas by heating is mixed with the ordinary raw material consisting of a resin, coloring agent, charge control agent, offset preventive agent, etc., and the mixture is heated to foam during the process of kneading to obtain the hard sponge-like toner lumps 1 contg. 10-60vol.% cells 2 having 1-50mum diameter; thereafter, the lumps are ground. The mechanical strength and physical bond of the binder resin of the toner 1 are weakened by the presence of the cells 2 in the case of pulverizing the lumps by, for example, a jet mill, etc. The grinding of the toner lumps with the smaller energy is thereby enabled and the toner of the small grain sizes is produced efficiently at the low cost.

Production of developer for electrophotography

PURPOSE:To obtain a distinct image without depending on environment by adding any compound which is classified to pigment yellow 12, 14 and 17 specified by color index in negative electrostatically charged toner containing at least binder resin and a black coloring material. CONSTITUTION:About 100pts.wt. binder resin, about 1-10pts.wt. carbon black and about 0.1-10pts.wt. mixture of one kind or two or more kinds of azo pigment compound of yellow which is classified to the pigment yellow 12, 14 and 17 by color index are mixed and dispersed by using a ball mill or a V type mixer, etc. Next, they are heated, melted and kneaded by a pressuring kneader and a roll, etc., and the obtained mixture is roughly crushed by using a hammer mill or a jet mill, etc. After adding and mixing an addition agent such as an electrostatic charging control agent, it is finely crushed by the jet mill, then the finely crushed substance is classified to desired particle sizes by a pneumatic classifying method, etc., so as to obtain the negative electrostatically charged toner.
