Poroelastic modeling of borehole breakouts for in-situ stress determination by finite element method
TL;DR: In this article, a finite element modeling of borehole breakouts considering poroelasticity was used to determine in-situ stress by inverse analysis, and the trained artificial neural network was then used to predict the corresponding in-Situ stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Finite-Element Modeling of Borehole Breakouts for In Situ Stress Determination
Journal ArticleDOI
Numerical Investigation of the Impacts of Borehole Breakouts on Breakdown Pressure
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the factors that may affect the correct interpretation of the breakdown pressure in a hydraulic fracturing test for a borehole that had breakouts, and show that the difference between the breakout pressure of a circular borehole and that of borehole with breakouts could be as large as 82% in some situations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Poroelastoplastic Borehole Modeling by Tangent Stiffness Matrix Method
Hua Zhang,Shunde Yin +1 more
TL;DR: The stability of borehole is a major concern in petroleum and geotechnical engineering as mentioned in this paper, and the stability of the borehole has been studied extensively in the past few decades.
