Abstract In most parts processing, the offset load of the worktable will be caused by many factors, such as the asymmetry of the workpiece shape and the offset of the clamping position. In this paper, the oil-cushion tilting double rectangular cavity hydrostatic thrust bearing is taken as the research object, and its static characteristics under abnormal load conditions are studied. The effects of rotation speed, offset distance and load on its static features are analyzed. The results show that the influence on the oil film pressure field under the eccentric load conditions is in descending order of load, speed, and offset distance. The effect of load and speed on the oil film pressure is positively related to the offset distance. The appropriate size of the offset distance has a specific gain on the bearing capacity improvement. The influence on the oil film temperature field under the abnormal load condition is in descending order of the rotation speed, the load and the offset distance. After the offset distance increases, the effect of load on the oil film temperature slightly increases, and the oil film temperature rise is within the safe operating range of the lubricating oil.

Morphology characterization of micro-gap oil film of tilting pad hydrostatic bearing under extreme working conditions

Investigation of the deformation characteristics of adaptive hydrostatic thrust bearings has been performed under extreme conditions, considering the relationship between viscosity and temperature of lubricating oil. A 3D model is generated, including the oil pad, the oil film and friction pairs. The oil film temperature field and the oil cavity pressure field have been calculated based on CFD. According to the lubrication theory and tribology principle, the force deformation, the thermal deformation, the force and thermal coupling deformation have been studied by using workbench simulation software, and the best working condition of adaptive hydrostatic thrust bearing is obtained. The results show that the load causes the table and the base to undergo inward elastic deformation, and the temperature causes them to undergo outward thermal deformation. The two deformations have opposite directions, and the deformations compensate each other. When the load is between 28 and 32t, the possibility of dry friction generated by the friction pair is low. The research results provide a theoretical basis for the stability of adaptive hydrostatic thrust bearings under extreme working conditions.

The invention discloses an experimental method for acquiring the morphology of a static and dynamic pressure hybrid bearing gap oil film under extreme working conditions. Under the two extreme workingconditions under which the rotating workbench is in a no-load state of 0t-228.9/min and the conventional load of 12t-182.3r/m, a precise bolt at the bottom of the oil pad is firstly adjusted to achieve inclination, the angle is calculated through the displacement difference of corresponding positions on the two sides of the same oil pad, the inclination angle value of the corresponding working condition is achieved through multiple times of adjustment, the load of the corresponding load is clamped, the workbench and the load are jacked up through the static pressure device, then a spindle motor is started, and the rotating speed of the corresponding extreme working condition is set through a control button on the electric control cabinet. And after the workbench rotates stably and operates for a period of time, a data acquisition device is used for acquiring oil film thickness data measured by sensors at different positions, corresponding programs are written through Matlab software processing, and the static and dynamic pressure hybrid bearing gap oil film morphology is displayed.
