The Social Psychology of Organizations.

The research team measured the enterprise web accessibility levels of the Forbes 250 largest enterprises using the fully automatic accessibility evaluation tool Sortsite, and presented the compliance of the evaluated websites to WCAG 1.0, WCAG 2.0 and Section 508 accessibility levels. Given the recent attention to organizational leaders having ethical duties towards their dedicated employees, we propose that ‘societal citizenship behaviour’ concerns ethical duties of organizational leaders towards society in general and in particular to those who have less means to assert their needs. In effect, we found enterprise website accessibility levels to be in need of significant improvement. An interpretation of a positive path forward to better enterprise website accessibility levels is put forth based on a focus-group interaction and using BNML—a novel Business Narrative Modelling Language.

The relationship between interoperability and innovation is very hard to prove and more empirical studies seem to be needed to this end We performed an in-depth case study at an innovative Portuguese software firm which has achieved steady growth, international brand recognition and consistent annual profits, despite the much publicized economic crisis in Portugal IP BRICK is interesting as it differs from the survivalist entrepreneurial endeavours which tend to be the norm in Portugal We indeed conclude that having an interoperability capability is central and an antecedent to innovation Furthermore, a dynamic organizational innovation culture is instrumental and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is seen to be an enabler in the process Using digital knowledge management tools as a basis for innovation and having a company-wide profit-sharing scheme based on seniority, but also on merit, encourage a knowledge-sharing corporate culture This is seen to be especially important in Portugal where there is no religious diversity, a characteristic of a dogmatic culture with a low creative orientation and an absence of a performance orientation Our research has also used the Business Narrative Modelling Language (BNML) – a research tool which made the research effort more agile and dynamic when compared to more traditional research methods

Business Narrative Modelling Language (BNML) representations: A storyline view and a plot view of how interoperability is an antecedent of innovation at IP BRICK

Public service reform is a global phenomenon. Increased requirements and pressures made by the users imply finding the adequate form of modernization. Public service transformation aims at providing services in a more effective and efficient way, with enabling a better service providing. In such an environment, manager’s role is crucial for the success of public service transformation. The intention of this paper consisted in determining the nature of relations between the way in which the managers are chosen and efficiency of Serbian public services functioning.  The presented case study has served us as an illustration of the extent to which existing practice of selecting the managers in public services of Serbia influences the successful reform and functioning of those organizations. Basis of the research sample consisted of th employees in public services in the territory of Srem, one of the regions in Serbia. Basic assumption would be that there is a significant correlation between the existing practice of selecting the managers and successful management within public services and that was proved by this study. Research and analysis of the results obtained have indicated that the current way of selecting managers in public services of Serbia is largely a significant barrier towards the creation of efficient management, capable of creating a better service for the users.

Relationship between Manager Selection Practice and Efficiency of Public Service Reform in Transition Countries: The Case Study of Serbia

In a society based on knowledge, human potential becomes the most significant factor in the creation of competitive advantage. In order to remain competitive, the companies need to possess, build and maintain human resources that become rare, indispensable and difficult to be copied. Therefore, in recent years, the interest in the field of human resource management (HRM) is increasing. This study is an attempt to investigate to what extent are the public services in Serbia, as one of the transitional countries, ready for a successful application of HRM, in order to satisfy users’ needs as better as possible. The basis of the research were the employees in public services in the territory of Srem, one of the regions in Serbia. Basic assumption was that there is a significant correlation between the type of organizational design and success of HRM application in public services and this study has proven it. Research and analysis of the results obtained have indicated that present centralized organizational structure and high hierarchical management of public services do not represent a suitable basis for successful realization of HRM, and at the same time, the relevant factors that have negative impact of HRM success were identified.

Impact of organizational design on the success of human resource management (HRM): A case study of Serbian public services

The business environment is in great need of human resources for organizational transformation in recent years. Therefore, how to ensure new workers to acquire the knowledge and skills of organizational operations within a short time in order to achieve skill transfer by means of education and training are businesses faces. Therefore, this study will investigate the reasons to enhance knowledge preservation and transformation in order to facilitate the establishment of the knowledge management system and thereby enhance the global competitiveness of business. The research results show that organizational identification, altruism, dutifulness, interpersonal harmony, and organizational resources can enhance knowledge preservation and transformation.
