Production of η-alumina from waste aluminium dross

TL;DR: In this paper, domestic aluminium dross was treated for developing a suitable process flow sheet to obtain η-alumina a high valued product, initially H2SO4 leaching was carried out for both un-washed and washed dross, the leaching efficiency achieved was ∼71% but washing of dross followed by leaching raised the recovery to ∼84%.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acid dissolution of alumina from waste aluminium dross

TL;DR: In this article, the acid dissolution of waste dross rich in alumina value was taken for acid dissolution studies to recover alumina values, and the results obtained therefore, showed that aluminium dross could be utilized to prepare alumina chemicals and thereby avoiding stockpiling.
Journal ArticleDOI

A pyro-hydrometallurgical process for the recovery of alumina from waste aluminium dross

TL;DR: In this paper, a flow sheet for the production of pure alumina from waste aluminium dross was developed, in which soda-roast and dilute alkali leaching were used to obtain about 90% recovery of alumina.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rheological behaviour of nickel laterite suspensions

TL;DR: In this article, the rheology of nickel laterite suspension at different temperatures, concentrations, particle sizes and pH for both fines and tailings from a hydrocyclone discharge was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Precipitation of boehmite in sodium aluminate liquor

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of various parameters such as temperature, alumina/caustic (Al 2 O 3 /Na 2 O) ratio, seed size, amount of seed, organic additives, precipitation time, etc., on boehmite formation was investigated.
