A device for charging at least one rechargeable battery of a battery-operated surgical instrument that comprises a sealed container operable to enclose and create a microbial seal around the battery. The sealed container permits surgical sterilization and inductive charging of the battery while the battery is enclosed therein. The device further comprises an inductive charging assembly having a power receiver sub-assembly inside the sealed container and electrically coupled to the battery whereby the power receiver sub-assembly is operable to receive electrical power inductively from outside the sealed container and to charge the battery electrically coupled to the power receiver sub-assembly. A power supply is disposed outside the sealed container and supplies power inductively to the power receiver sub-assembly through the sealed container such that the sealed container is not structurally breached.

A roulette wheel assembly and table arrangement includes a roulette wheel (1) rotatably mounted in a wheel bowl (5), and driven by an electric motor (6). In operation the wheel (1) is rotated and the slot compartment floor (14) is lowered to allow a ball (15) from the previous game to be thrown outwardly and fall into a ball magazine (22). A firing breech (24) is opened to allow a ball (15) to enter a firing chamber (26). On the command, an air blower (27) blows the ball (15) into a firing tube (28) which propels the ball (15) tangentially onto the bowl (5) in the opposite direction to the travel of the wheel (1). The ball (15) travels across the bowl (5) onto the wheel (1) and finally lands in a compartment (11). Each player around the table (37) has a betting station (38) giving the betting choices that make up the game.

A game apparatus for a gambling-type game includes a playing table having a plurality of marked areas on an upper surface thereof, these areas being indicative of various betting options, including several different types of bets. The apparatus includes a slot machine having a number of reels with a number of indicia on each reel. Preferably there are four reels, each with a series of numbers from 1 to 6. An electrical control arrangement permits the slot machine to be operated from any one of a number of different playing positions around the table.
