Compounds of the formula ##STR1## and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are selective cGMP PDE inhibitors which are useful in the treatment of such diseases and adverse conditions as angina, hypertension, congestive heart failure, reduced blood vessel patency, peripheral vascular disease, stroke, bronchitis, chronic asthma, allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis, glaucoma, and diseases characterized by disorders of gut motility.

An elongated sanitary napkin has deflectable longitudinal side edges formed by an edge or peripheral seal along the opposite sides of an absorbent. A garment attachment panel is secured to the underside of each side edge. A fixed portion of the panel is bonded flat against the side edge so that a free portion of the panel, extending from the fixed portion, is directed inward and downward. During use, the panels are fastened together beneath an undergarment crotch portion by hook and loop type fastener. Fastener and panels are sized so that when fastened the panels exert a pull on the side edges, controlling their deflection and, for example, preventing them from folding in over the absorbent. The garment attachment panels confine the undergarment crotch portion under the absorbent so that, for example, an elasticized edge of the crotch portion is prevented from pulling up and onto the absorbent.

An protection barrier provides voltage and current necessarily conveyed to hazardous, such as explosive, areas. The system includes a current sensing circuit which triggers a silicon control rectifier based crowbar circuit in the event over current is detected. This triggering, in turn, trips a relay severing the current path entirely. The safety barrier comprises an input terminal (8) and an output terminal (16) and an input and output terminal (10, 17) of a common line (12), and has at least one voltage and current-limiting device (7, 13, 14), which comprises a fuse (F1), a voltage-limiting device (D3) that is associated with the common line (12), a current-limiting device (R6) that is connected to the output of the common line and an additional protection circuit that is located in front of the voltage and current-limiting device (7, 13, 14).

A shunt-diode safety barrier for use with an unregulated voltage power supply and comprising shunt diodes and one or more fusible components provides overvolt protection by incorporating a current-limiting circuit arranged so that the or at least one of the fusible components is protected against applied voltages greater than the normal maximum working voltage. The barrier can be designed to operate as a 1-channel barrier or as a 2-channel barrier. The barrier components can be protected from overheating by the inclusion of a Zener diode to operate in conjunction with the fusible component or components.

For stabilizing a voltage stored on a memory capacitor, an electric controller has a generator providing a recurrent ramp wave form. Each time the ramp wave form voltage rises to a reference level, an oscillator is switched on to provide a series of sawtooth pulses, beginning always at a peak. The ramp wave form and the stored voltage are fed to a differential amplifier so that this has an output when ramp wave form voltage exceeds the stored voltage. The amplifier output is used to open a gate to allow part of one of the sawtooth pulses to be fed to the capacitor as a correction pulse, unless the sawtooth pulse is at zero when the gate opens. The stored voltage is thus first brought, if necessary, to a value corresponding to a zero value of the sawtooth pulse and is then stabilized at that value. The controller can operate either automatically or manually and the operation can be changed bumplessly and without balancing.
