PURPOSE:To correct quickly the cource deviation of an unmanned traveling object by performing steering of said traveling object on the basis of the change of the position of a mark picture image emerging at a prescribed horizontal position of a frame formed by the video signal of a TV camera. CONSTITUTION:Both horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals S1 and S2 are supplied to a TV camera 6, and a synthetic video signal S4 is delivered. The signal S4 is converted into the digital value by an A/D converter 12 and applied to frame memories 14 and 17 respectively. In this case,the memory 14 stores only the picture data on the lower half of a frame for each formation of a frame. While the memory 17 stores only the picture data on the upper half of the frame every time when eight signals S2 are delivered. Then the right and left wheel motors 22 and 24 of an unmanned traveling object 2 are controlled in accordance with the position change of the picture of a mark 1 emerging at a prescribed horizontal position of the frame. Thus the cource deviation of the object 2 is corrected.
