Toward an interpretation of dynamic neural activity in terms of chaotic dynamical systems

TL;DR: Using the concepts of chaotic dynamical systems, an interpretation of dynamic neural activity found in cortical and subcortical areas is presented in this article, which is quite different from the conventional one, cast in terms of simple behavior on low-dimensional attractors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Original Contribution: Dynamic link of memory-Chaotic memory map in nonequilibrium neural networks

TL;DR: It is suggested that the cortical chaos may serve for dynamically linking true memory as well as a memory search in nonequilibrium neural networks.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chaotic itinerancy as a dynamical basis of hermeneutics in brain and mind

TL;DR: In this article, a new dynamical mechanism for information processing in mind and brain is proposed, which can be formulated as an itinerant motion in ultra-high dimensional dynamical systems, which may give a new realm of the dynamic information processing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Noise-induced order

TL;DR: In this paper, the transition from chaotic behavior to ordered behavior induced by external noise is observed in a certain class of one-dimensional mappings and the transition is clearly shown in terms of the Lyapunov number, entropy, power spectrum, and the nature of orbits.
