Fuel coolant interaction experiments in TROI using a UO2/ZrO2 mixture

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of steam explosion experiments using reactor material carried out under the Test for Real cOrium Interaction with water (TROI) program are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

A semi-implicit numerical scheme for transient two-phase flows on unstructured grids

TL;DR: The modified semi-implicit numerical method for unstructured grid and the preliminary results of the calculations are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical effects of the semi-conservative form of momentum equations for multi-dimensional two-phase flows

TL;DR: In this article, a semi-conservative form of momentum equations is suggested which is close to the conservative form but still maintains the feature of the non-conservative forms, and the results clearly showed that the semi conservative form of the momentum equations provides better solutions than the nonconservative form, especially for heterogeneous two-phase flows.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal-hydraulic aspects of FCIs in TROI corium/water interaction tests

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of TROI corium/water interaction tests were compared within the same material melt of 70:30 corium to exclude the thermal-hydraulic effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical approach to siphon break phenomena in a research reactor pool using the CUPID code

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the three-dimensional two-phase transient flow analysis code, CUPID, to assess the siphonage flow rate and siphon break phenomena during a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) in a research reactor.
