The relationship between urban environment and the inflammatory bowel diseases: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Ing Shian Soon,Natalie A. Molodecky,Doreen M. Rabi,William A. Ghali,Herman W. Barkema,Gilaad G. Kaplan +5 more

Journal ArticleDOI
Postoperative complications following colectomy for ulcerative colitis in children.
Ing Shian Soon,Iwona Wrobel,Jennifer deBruyn,Reg Sauve,David L. Sigalet,Belle S. Kaplan,Marie-Claude Proulx,Gilaad G. Kaplan +7 more
TL;DR: Colectomy UC was uncommon and rates have remained stable and postcolectomy complications were common, especially in patients undergoing emergent colectomy, which suggests optimizing timing of colectomies may reduce postoperative complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nationwide temporal trends in incidence of hospitalization and surgical intestinal resection in pediatric inflammatory bowel diseases in the United States from 1997 to 2009.
TL;DR: The annual incidence of hospitalization is climbing in pediatric inflammatory bowel diseases, accompanied by rising intestinal resection rates for CD and stable colectomy rates for UC.
Journal ArticleDOI
