Journal ArticleDOI

Modification of polysulfone membranes 1. CO2 plasma treatment

TL;DR: In this paper, polysulfone membranes were modified with plasma of CO2 to obtain highly hydrophilic surfaces of acidic character, and it was shown that prolonged treatment caused severe surface degradation, increase of pore size and widening of their distribution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modification of polysulfone membranes: 3. effect of nitrogen plasma

TL;DR: In this article, the properties of porous membranes modified by action of nitrogen plasma were investigated and it was shown that modified ultrafiltration membranes are less prone to protein fouling than their untreated analogues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modification of polysulfone membranes. 4. Ammonia plasma treatment

TL;DR: The effect of NH3 and NH3/Ar plasmas on polysulfone membranes has been studied in this paper, showing that NH3 was more efficient than NHAr.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modification of polysulfone membranes. 2. Plasma grafting and plasma polymerization of acrylic acid

TL;DR: Performance of polysulfone membranes modified with acrylic acid using plasma initiated graft polymerization (both in solution and vapor phase) and plasma polymerization was also pH-dependent showing better properties in basic solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Plasma modified polymers as a support for enzyme immobilization II. Amines plasma

TL;DR: In this article, polysulfone films were modified by ammonia, n-butylamine and allylamine remote plasma using various sample-toplasma distances and contact angle measurements, FTIR-ATR and XPS spectroscopy proved the presence of polar groups on the modified surface.
