SOLUTION: For this hydrogen storage medium, carbon-containing material comprising various kinds of fibers of plants, animals, and/or synthetic resin is used as the hydrogen storage material. The hydrogen storage medium is basically obtained by heating (steaming)/carbonizing the fibers with or without iron, cobalt, or nickel in a no-oxygen environment to form the carbon-containing material, and filling the carbon-containing material in a pressure-resistant container.
