Evaluation of Antioxidant and Antiangiogenic Properties of Caesalpinia Echinata Extracts
Elisangela Christhianne Barbosa da Silva Gomes,George Chaves Jimenez,Luís Cláudio Nascimento da Silva,Fabrício Bezerra de Sá,Karen Pena Cavalcanti de Souza,Gerson S. Paiva,Ivone Antônia de Souza +6 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that biochemical components belonging to the extract of C. echinata interfere in mechanisms that control the angiogenic process, mediated by substrates belonging toThe arachidonic acid cascade, although the data described above also suggest that the NO buffer may contribute to some extent to the reduction in theAngiogenic response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phytochemical and toxicological evaluation of a blend of essential oils of Croton species on Aedes aegypti and Mus musculus
Rômulo Carlos Dantas da Cruz,Karine da Silva Carvalho,Raíra Justino Oliveira Costa,Pérsio Alexandre da Silva,Sandra Lúcia da Cunha e Silva,Simone Andrade Gualberto,Norma Buarque de Gusmão,Ivone Antônia de Souza +7 more
TL;DR: The blend of essential oils of C. argyrophyllus and C. tetradenius has insecticidal properties against Ae.
Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The administration of methanol extract of C. jamacaru does not produce toxic effects or alters the majority of biochemical and hematological studies in pregnant adult Wistar rats, however, the increase of serum ALT and AST in high doses suggests a liver overload, which must be investigated in more detail.
Journal Article
Acute toxicity study of stone-breaker (Phyllanthus tenellus Roxb.)
T.C. Silva,Jorge Veras-Filho,Elba Lúcia Cavalcanti de Amorim,Ivone Antônia de Souza,Ulysses Paulino Albuquerque,Ednaldo Cavalcante de Araújo +5 more
TL;DR: It is found that this species induced agitation in animals, with stereotyped movements, spasms and increased respiratory frequency, as well as signs of depression, such as sleepiness, prostration, dyspnea and a reduction in respiratory frequency.
Atividade antimicrobiana do extrato de Momordica charantia L.
Elizabeth Arruda Carneiro Ponzi,Thompson Lopes de Oliveira,Iracema Andrade Ferrer de Morais,José Justino da Silva Júnior,Marleny Elizabeth Martinez Gerbi,Ivone Antônia de Souza,Maria Nelly Caetano Psiottano,Haroudo Satiro Xavier +7 more
TL;DR: The aqueous ethanol extract of the plant species M. charantia L. was effective in the microbes studied, suggesting that the use of this substance is a low-cost option in the treatment of diseases of the mouth, justifying its technological pharmaceutical development.
