Journal ArticleDOI

Antiviral ellagitannins from Spondias mombin

TL;DR: Two ellagitannins with antiviral properties were isolated from the leaves and stems of Spondias mombin by means of a bioguided assay and showed pronounced antiviral activity against Coxsackie and Herpes simplex viruses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antibacterial and molluscicidal phenolic acids from Spondias mombin.

TL;DR: These phenolic acids were shown to have a pronounced antibacterial effect against Bacillus cereus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Mycobacterium fortuitum, and a molluscicidal effect against the snail Biomphalaria glabrata, an intermediate host in the schistosome life cycle.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antiviral caffeoyl esters from Spondias mombin

TL;DR: Two caffeoyl esters with antiviral properties were isolated from the leaves and stems of Spondias mombin by means of a bioguided assay and showed antiviral activities against Coxsackie and Herpes simplex viruses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mass spectral characterization of C-glycosidic flavonoids isolated from a medicinal plant (Passiflora incarnata)

TL;DR: Support for C-6 glucosylation was obtained by recording the daughter ion spectra of [M - H - 162]- ions, which were in good agreement with that obtained for isovitexin-2''-O-beta-glucopyranoside, which could be rationalized by hydrogen bonding effects.
