Journal ArticleDOI

H-type (hybrid) granitoids: a proposed revision of the granite-type classification and nomenclature

TL;DR: In this article, a mixing model was proposed to explain the petrogenesis of the Hercynian calc-alkaline granodiorites of Iberia, and a modified classification of common plutonic rocks in orogenic environments was proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microgranular enclaves as indicators of hybridization processes in granitoid rocks, Hercynian Belt, Spain

TL;DR: Many Hercynian granitoids of calc-alkaline composition are characterized by the presence of microgranular enclaves of tonalite to diorite composition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multistage crystallization of tonalitic enclaves in granitoid rocks (Hercynian belt, Spain): implications for magma mixing

TL;DR: The crystallization sequence, nucleation density and crystal index of tonalitic enclaves from different granitoids of the Hercynian orogeny indicate that they are pieces of magma partially crystallized in the interior of synplutonic bodies of basic magma, which was injected into a silicic magma chamber as mentioned in this paper.
