Selective removal of fluoride ions by a two-way ion-exchange cyclic process

One is tempted to define it as a model of the mass-transfer in the ion-exchange bed, in which equilibrium between the two phases is assumed at all points and one expects it to give a sort of ideal limiting behaviour. Actually, we shall see that if this assumption is taken strictly, it is impossible to construct a solution which can be considered as a limit of the real behaviour when mass-transfer kinetics become very rapid.
