Journal ArticleDOI

Bis-(disubstitutedphosphinyl)-alkanes—IV: Extraction of mineral acids, uranium (VI), and some lanthanides☆

TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of partition data for the solvent extraction of mineral acids, uranium (VI), and some lanthanide elements by dis-(di-n-hexylphosphinyl)-alkanes is presented, as a function of aqueous concentration of nitric, hydrochloric, and perchloric acids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gem-bis(disubstitutedphosphinyl)alkanes—II: Extraction of uranium(VI) with bis(di-n-hexylphosphinyl)methane

TL;DR: In this article, the solvent extraction properties of bis(di- n -hexylphosphinyl)methane, HDPM, [(C 6 H 13 ) 2 P(O)] 2 CH 2, for uranium (VI) have been studied and compared with those of tri-n -octylphophosphine oxide, TOPO, (C 8 H 17 ) 3 P( O).
Journal ArticleDOI

Bis-(disubstitutedphosphinyl)-alkanes—V: Solvation of uranyl nitrate by bis-(di-n-hexylphosphinyl) -methane, -ethane, -propane, -butane, and by tri-n-octylphosphine oxide☆

TL;DR: In this article, the nature of the complexes existing in solutions of uranyl nitrate and various bifunctional phosphine oxides in several organic diluents (1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,2 -Dichloroethane, nitrobenzene, and acetonitrile) was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bis-(disubstitutedphosphinyl)-alkanes—VI: The interaction of bidentate phosphine oxides and tri-n-octyl phosphine oxide with water☆

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that bidentate phosphine oxides and tri-n-octyl phosphine oxide (TOPO) form complexes with water when dilute solutions of these compounds in an inert diluent are equilibrated with an aqueous phase.
