Drag and mass transfer in non-newtonian flows through multi-particle systems at low reynolds numbers

TL;DR: In this paper, an approximate solution for the motion of an assemblage of solid spheres moving through a power-law fluid at low Reynolds numbers was obtained using HapTheoretical predictions based on Kuwabara's zero-vorticity cell model are very similar to those based on Happel's model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Newtonian fluid sphere with rigid or mobile interface in a shear-thinning liquid: drag and mass transfer

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived the drag force and mass transfer rate of a Newtonian fluid sphere, having mobile or rigid interface, moving in a power law fluid, by an approximate solution of equations of motion in the creeping flow regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

More on mixing of viscous liquids in bubble columns

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the central plume on mixing rate, the velocity profiles, the gas hold-up, and the back-mixing was studied in semi-batch bubble columns.
