Mechanical properties of a niobium-tin superconductor reinforced by tantalum cores

TL;DR: In this article, a fiber-reinforced type of niobium-tin superconductor for large scale high field magnets was developed, which has a tantalum core.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of Ta-reinforcement geometry in Nb/sub 3/Sn wires

TL;DR: The tantalum-fiber-reinforced bronze process niobium-tin wires for use in large-scale high field magnets are fabricated by conventional drawing as mentioned in this paper, and two kinds of the wires with different geometries but similar volume ratios are manufactured.
Journal ArticleDOI

Proofing tests of a fiber-reinforced type of niobium-tin superconductor by small coil experiments

TL;DR: In this article, a fiber-reinforced niobium-tin superconductor for a large-scale high field magnet was developed, which was tested in the form of a small solenoid with the diameter of 50 mm under a backup magnetic field of 15 Tesla.
