Journal ArticleDOI

Direct Observation of Hot-Electron Spectra from Laser-Excited Sodium Vapor

TL;DR: In this paper, a sodium atomic beam was illuminated by cw dye laser radiation (a few watts per square centimeter) tuned to the D 2 resonance line, and several lines were observed between 4 and 7 eV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oscillator strength measurements of even-parity autoionizing resonances by combined synchrotron-radiation-laser excitation.

TL;DR: The sum of the oscillator strengths for all the observed transitions between the 2p3p initial-state and the 2 p3 s 3p finalstate configurations was found to be equal to 0.22(4).
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron spectrometry study of associative and penning ionization in laser excited sodium vapor

TL;DR: In this article, the first observation, by electron spectrometry, was reported in laser-excited sodium vapor of the primary low energy electrons produced by associative ionization and by Penning ionization of sodium atoms in highly excited n1 states.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Observation of ionization of laser excited sodium atoms by synchrotron radiation

TL;DR: In this paper, a triple, orthogonal crossed beam experiment was conducted to study photoionization of excited Na atoms, and the results showed that up to 20% of the ground state atoms were photoionized to Na(3p 2p3/2).
