Journal ArticleDOI

Localization of amine storage sites in the adrenergic cell body. A study of the superior cervical ganglion of the rat by fine structural cytochemistry.

TL;DR: A modification of the chromaffin reaction was employed in the ultrastructural localization of biogenic amines in the rat superior cervical ganglion, which revealed the presence of three cell organelles containing highly electron-dense material, namely large dense cored vesicles, small dense cORED vesicle, and a tubular reticulum.
Journal ArticleDOI

The nature of rat "specific heart granules" with regard to catecholamines: an investigation by ultrastructural cytochemistry.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the specific heart granules are unable to store appreciable amounts of endogenous or exogenous amines and that their electron dense, uranophilic core consists of a pronase-sensitive, probably proteinaceous, material.
