Rotational structures in 106Sn: A new form of band termination?
R. Wadsworth,H.R. Andrews,C. W. Beausang,R. M. Clark,J. DeGraaf,D. B. Fossan,A. Galindo-Uribarri,I. M. Hibbert,K. Hauschild,J. R. Hughes,V. P. Janzen,D. R. LaFosse,S. M. Mullins,E. S. Paul,L. Persson,S. Pilotte,D. C. Radford,H. Schnare,P. Vaska,D. Ward,J. N. Wilson,Ingemar Ragnarsson +21 more
TL;DR: Two weakly populated rotational bands have been established in [sup 106]Sn from the [sup 54]Fe ([sup 58]Ni,[alpha]2[ital p]) reaction at 243 MeV, consistent with cranked Nilsson model calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of unexpectedly small E1 moments in 224Ra
R. J. Poynter,P. A. Butler,N. Clarkson,D. Cline,K.A. Connell,R. A Cunningham,L. Goettig,T. H. Hoare,J. R. Hughes,N. S. Jarvis,G D Jones,S. Juutinen,S. M. Mullins,C.N. Pass,J. Simpson,R. Wadsworth,D. L. Watson,C.A. White +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the intrinsic electric dipole moment (Q1) was derived from the observed B(E1)/B(E2) braching ratios of 224Ra up to Iπ=12−.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quadrupole and octupole collectivity in 148Nd
R. Ibbotson,C.A. White,T. Czosnyka,P. A. Butler,N. Clarkson,D. Cline,R.A. Cunningham,M. Devlin,K. G. Helmer,T. H. Hoare,J. R. Hughes,G. D. Jones,A.E. Kavka,B. Kotlinski,R J {Poynter},P. H. Regan,E.G. Vogt,R. Wadsworth,D. L. Watson,C. Y. Wu +19 more
TL;DR: The role of quadrupole and octupole collectivity in the shape-transitional nucleus 148 Nd has been studied by Coulomb excitation using beams of 58 Ni and 92 Mo as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shears bands in Pb-193
G. Baldsiefen,M. A. Stoyer,J. A. Cizewski,D. P. McNabb,Walid Younes,J. A. Becker,L. A. Bernstein,M. J. Brinkman,L. P. Farris,E. A. Henry,J. R. Hughes,A. Kuhnert,T. F. Wang,Bo Cederwall,R. M. Clark,M. A. Deleplanque,R. M. Diamond,P. Fallon,I. Y. Lee,A. O. Macchiavelli,J. R. B. Oliveira,F. S. Stephens,J. Burde,D. T. Vo,S. Frauendorf +24 more
TL;DR: In this paper, four bands of enhanced dipole transitions with weak crossovers have been observed in Pb-195 and three of these bands are connected to the spherical levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Second minimum lifetime measurements in 133Nd and 137Nd.
TL;DR: The quadrupole moments of the highly deformed, second minimum bands in {sup 133]Nd and {sup 137}Nd have been extracted from mean lifetime measurements using the Doppler shift attenuation method in good agreement with the predictions of total Routhian surface calculations.
