Developments in UHF lower tropospheric wind profiling at NOAA's Aeronomy Laboratory

TL;DR: An overview of the architecture of the UHF profiler system as it has evolved over the past decade including the development of radio acoustic sounding system (RASS) capabilities is presented in this paper.

Interactions between clear‐air reflective layers and rain observed with a boundary layer wind profiler

TL;DR: In this paper, a 915-MHz boundary layer profiler of reflective layers in the clear air that persist as light rain falls through them is presented, where Rayleigh scattering by the rain and Bragg scattering by clear air are distinguished by the fall velocity of the drops relative to the air.
